“ WEEK 126 / 133 – 133 WEEKS TO SUCCESS “

The French phrase fait accompli refers to a thing that has already happened or been decided before those affected hear about it, leaving them with no option but to accept. You could try to persuade someone and they may pretend to listen to you just to hear you out, but in their mind, their opinion is set. People will make poor decisions when they don’t have all the information made available to them. People will make poor decisions even if they have all of the research, reports, facts, and opinions.

Unless all is truly said and done, it’s not always too late to turn a decision around. Timing is everything. Decision makers are influenced by a variety of factors including budget, the views of their peers, or even their very mood that day. Truth be told, if I get a cold call on a Monday morning at 9:00 AM versus one on a Friday before lunch, I’m more likely to be forgiving on that Friday at noon.

If you really want an account, don’t let them slip away just because they said they’re going elsewhere. Unless they’re contractually locked in, it’s not too late. Keep an open mind because things will go wrong. Businesses will close, renovations will happen, traffic, natural disasters, and popup parades all tend to pop up at odd and inconvenient times. It’s up to you to take advantage and see the positives where others only see the unfortunate.

About:

Each week, I take a tip from Lois P. Frankel’s book, Nice Girls Still Don’t Get the Corner Office, and explore how each of these tips affect myself and other women in similar positions on the road to becoming the women we want to be. There are far and few between who are a few steps behind me, and many more who are far advanced. I found that Lois P. Frankel’s advice applied to novice, intermediates, and experts alike. It helped me see that I was already doing right, served as a reminder to keep on doing what I was doing and how to keep that momentum going. The book also showed me areas where I could improve, and gave realistic tips to jump on board. There are a total of 133 tips, and explore one tip per week in a program I call: 133 Weeks to Success.

Join the movement using the hashtag #133WeeksToSuccess with posts which are posted every #AlphaFemaleFriday.
