Meet Danielle Miller – Boutique Fashionista with a Heart of Gold
A list of New Yorkers’ favorite things: being a New Yorker, loving fashion, and giving back. I came across fashion’s latest entrepreneur with a heart of gold. It’s time to meet Danielle Miller. At the ripe young age of 26, Native New Yorker and fashion junkie, Danielle Miller launched her one online boutique straight from her very own closet while navigating her first year at Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California.
After her first year at law school, Danielle decided that it was time to let go of some her hard-to-find unique styles that probably won’t be appropriate to wear in
a courtroom. Her passion for fashion and entrepreneurship was magic in the making. Danielle is a long-time entrepreneur who started in fashion when she was just 16 years old. As a teenager, she co-founded a charitable organization called Fashion Forward while at Horace Mann. Her actions to co-organize fundraising fashion shows generated upwards of$40,000 at each event to support a boarding school – called Maru-A-Pula, located in Botswana, Africa – for children orphaned by AIDS victims.
Her current online store, which can be found via TRADESEY, is a highly curated selection of edgy statement styles to the classics straight from what her friends call an insanely large closet. She stays true to her philanthropic roots in her pledge to donate 5% of her closets profits to a different charity every 3 months.
Danielle currently supports Miley Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation. Danielle explains, “by supporting the efforts of Happy Hippies, we will help make a difference in the lives of young people as we share their mission to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth, and other vulnerable populations.”
In addition to the well-known celebrity foundation, Danielle also pledges to donate to the Pepperdine Micro-enterprise Program in partnership with Banc of California, which helps underprivileged members of the Los Angeles community find gainful employment and launch micro-businesses. Danielle has become a Champion of the Fall 2016 Program.
Big heart meets strong work ethic. Beyond the glimmer clothes in an industry known for churning and burning, Danielle makes it clear that people should never be afraid to express themselves through design.
