Once I started my own company ConZerge, LLC—emphasis on the big Z—with my mother and father in what I have dubbed the Mom and Pop Virtual Shop (here’s looking at my undergrad senior thesis that I’ve been putting on the back burner with everything going on), I realized that I had become more of a risk-taker. To be an entrepreneur is to risk it all. The stakes are high, but the rewards are greater than you can ever predict.
I used to play it safe, being that dead fish that swam with the stream. I used to be content with following the traditional timeline of life where you graduate from college, get married, have kids, and attempt to climb the corporate ladder until you retire. Really, though, who wants to climb the corporate ladder anymore?
I love the idea of being your own boss, especially as a woman. However, I do notice that we tend to forget the little nuances of everyday life during the hustle and bustle of entrepreneurship. On that note, for any fellow entrepreneur out there putting themselves out on the line, here are twenty-one simple tips for success by H. Jackson Brown, Jr: the American author of Life’s Little Instruction Book.
Agree or disagree with these tips? I’d love to hear your thoughts—especially about number one. 🙂
